Build and install

One command builds and copies your DLL into the game:

dotnet build MyMod.csproj -c Release -p:InstallToGame=true

Without -p:InstallToGame=true it only builds, and you copy the DLL from bin/Release/netstandard2.1/ into <game>/Aether/Mods/ yourself.

Copy only your DLL (and libraries that are yours alone), never game files. If you do not remember where a downloaded mod goes, the “Add mod…” button in Aether Monitor works it out and asks before copying.

If your mod does not show up

  1. Is your DLL a .NET assembly (not a native program)?
  2. Does it have the [assembly: AetherMod(...)] label?
  3. Is it in Aether/Mods?
  4. Open BepInEx/LogOutput.log and look for Entrypoint … failed, MissingMethodException, TypeLoadException or a dependency error.
  5. Did you build against the same major version of Aether you have installed?
