Download
1 · Aether (the loader)
Installs only what Aether needs: the loader, its API, the UI and the bridge for BSMK mods. It installs no mods.
Windows 10/11: unzip and open aether-installer.exe.
Linux: unzip and open aether-installer.
The regular version is small and needs the free .NET 9 runtime (get it from Microsoft’s official page, pick “Runtime”). If you would rather install nothing, the full version carries everything but is larger.
2 · Official mods
Each mod is a small zip. They need Aether installed to work: they cannot be used on their own yet (we want that to change). Install Aether first, then add the mod from Aether Monitor (“Add mod…” button).
A card for the block or creature you aim at.
Corner and fullscreen map built from 32×32-block chunks, cave layers, waypoints and death points, PNG export.
Item catalog and recipe browser inside the inventory.
Matte terrain, darker caves, handheld torchlight and presets.
3 · Open the game
In Steam, launch options: ./run_bepinex.sh %command% (Linux). Not needed on Windows: Steam starts the game with BepInEx. Windows may show SmartScreen (“Windows protected your PC”) because the executables are not code-signed yet: click “More info” then “Run anyway”, and check the SHA-256 against SHA256SUMS.txt first.
Optional, for advanced users: checksums (SHA-256) of the files: SHA256SUMS.txt
