Install Aether

You need Block Story from Steam. The installer fetches BepInEx 5.4.23.6 if it is missing and checks its signature (SHA-256) before installing anything.

Open aether-installer (aether-installer.exe on Windows), pick the Block Story folder and press “Install”. You will see each step as it happens. For a terminal there is a separate download (aether-cli) with ./install.sh --dry-run to preview.

The installer puts only the loader in your game, with no mods. You choose the mods: they download separately and are added from Aether Monitor, with the “Add mod…” button.

On Linux with Steam, open the game’s properties and in “Launch options” type ./run_bepinex.sh %command%.

After the first launch, BepInEx/config/aether_conflicts.txt tells you whether a mod is duplicated, missing something or clashes with another.

Alpha: tested on Linux and Windows 11. SmartScreen may warn on Windows because the executables are not code-signed yet.
