Public beta
Aether is in beta. It may fail, change or stop being maintained, and we offer no guarantee of availability, compatibility or outcome during the beta.
What Aether is
Aether is a free, open-source (MIT license) mod loader for Block Story, with an installer, a monitor window and tools for mod makers. It is an independent project by Ultima Ibrahim; it is not official and is not affiliated with Big Cube Interactive, the rights holder of Block Story. “Block Story” is its owner’s trademark and is used here only to state compatibility.
What you need
A legitimate copy of Block Story, and compliance with the game’s license. You must be at least 13, or the minimum age your country’s law requires; if you are a minor, use Aether with a parent or guardian’s permission.
How it works and what it installs
- The installer copies Aether’s files into the game folder and, if missing, downloads BepInEx (third-party software, LGPL) from its official GitHub release and checks its SHA-256 before installing it.
- Back up your saves before using mods. Aether keeps copies of the files it replaces in
Aether/backup, but we cannot guarantee that a mod will not damage a saved world. - You can remove Aether at any time by deleting the
BepInEx/plugins/AetherandAetherfolders in the game.
Third-party mods
Mods are made by third parties and run with your permissions inside the game. Aether’s official mods (Lens, Wayfinder, Blueprint and Dusk) and those in the Lattice catalog are information or convenience, not a guarantee that they are safe or error-free. Install only what you trust. Lattice has its own terms.
Fair play
Aether includes no cheats. Do not use Aether or its mods to gain unfair advantages, automate the game, modify memory in multiplayer, or break a server’s rules or the game’s license. You are responsible for what you install and how you use it, including any penalty a server may apply.
Code license and use of the name
Aether’s code is published under the MIT license (see the LICENSE file in the repository); that license governs the code. These terms apply to your use of the installer, the website and the services they query. You are granted no rights over Block Story’s trademarks or over game art, textures or code, which we do not distribute.
Availability and liability
Aether is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for damage arising from the use of Aether or third-party mods (lost saves, game crashes, server penalties, etc.). Nothing here limits rights your country’s law does not allow to be limited.
Takedowns and notices
We may remove downloads or content if a rights holder requires it, for security reasons or for breaking these rules. To report a security, copyright or any other problem, write to hello@ultimaibrahim.dev. Vulnerabilities in the game itself must be reported privately to Big Cube Interactive (see SECURITY.md in the repository).
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above shows the current version. Continuing to use Aether after a significant change means accepting it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. If you use Aether as a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence.
